Congratulations to Austin NARI for receiving NARI's 2024 Chapter Community Service Award! This honor is given to a NARI chapter for remodeling work completed for an individual, family, or community, including labor and materials, done on a charitable basis.In November 2021, Michael, a local resident, fell about 15 feet from his deer stand and sustained a spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed.Michael's family's house was built in the 1970s, and needed significant structural changes, including the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom, to accommodate a wheelchair. Austin NARI's goal was to redo the home's entrance and all the flooring, remove several walls, relocate plumbing, and make the bathroom accessible at no cost to the family.
